The Problem

RepVue’s original platform, built on a Node.js and React stack, had become increasingly difficult to maintain, scale, and extend. Mounting technical debt and performance issues were slowing the team down and blocking rapid iteration. To keep up with their ambitious growth roadmap, RepVue needed a complete rebuild, one that could unlock faster development without sacrificing quality or agility.

The Solution

GoGrow partnered with RepVue to completely rebuild their platform from the ground up, embedding a lean but high-impact team of two Ruby on Rails backend developers and one Next.js frontend developer. Working closely with RepVue’s CTO and internal engineers, we led a full transformation of both the backend and frontend architectures while ensuring a seamless transition for users.

We migrated the platform’s core logic and features into a clean, modular Ruby on Rails backend, dramatically improving stability, test coverage, and developer productivity. On the frontend, we rebuilt the user experience using Next.js, delivering faster load times, stronger SEO performance, and a smoother interface for browsing companies and submitting reviews.

To support RepVue’s growth plans, we also executed a complete data migration, carefully transferring all existing user and company data without disrupting the experience. Throughout the process, we worked in an agile, iterative way alongside their product team, establishing a scalable architecture that enables faster development, cleaner data models, and a much quicker release cycle going forward.

Alongside the rebuild, we introduced AI-powered capabilities that further elevated the platform. Features like automated text moderation, review sentiment analysis, and a job scraper that instantly pulls postings from external URLs reduced manual work and improved data quality. By doing this, Repvue can surface insights from thousands of reviews, flag sensitive content, and provide companies with clear, actionable analysis powered by AI.
